ABOUT US
ESYEN is an engineering company providing services to the Space Industry, supporting major international Customers and Agencies such as EUSPA and ESA. Since 2012, we have contributed to Europe's flagship Space Programmes, including Galileo, Copernicus and Secure Satcom.
Our teams support the design, deployment and operations of critical Ground Segment infrastructures, delivering engineering and operational services across Italy, Germany, France and Spain.
THE ROLE
We are looking for Junior and Senior Cyber Security professionals to join the cybersecurity team supporting the E-GNSS Transversal infrastructure, within the framework of the E-GNSS Transversal Service (ETS).
The role combines cybersecurity administration and operational activities, with a focus on maintaining a secure and resilient infrastructure. Depending on experience and seniority, the position will involve security monitoring and incident response, vulnerability management, access and permissions management, secure configuration and hardening, security tools administration, and support to cybersecurity compliance and operational activities.
You will work in a highly critical Ground Segment environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams to maintain and continuously improve the security posture of the infrastructure.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Degree/Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent cybersecurity certifications.
- Previous professional experience in Cybersecurity, IT Security, Security Operations or System Administration.
- For the Senior profile, solid professional experience in cybersecurity is expected; the Junior profile can be considered with a more limited professional background.
- Knowledge of security monitoring technologies, including Firewalls, IDS/IPS and SIEM platforms.
- Experience or knowledge of incident investigation and response, including the analysis of security events, logs and suspicious activities.
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment, risk evaluation, prioritisation and remediation.
- Practical knowledge of user access and permissions management, including account creation, modification and revocation.
- Knowledge of security tokens, cryptographic keys and digital certificates.
- Familiarity with hardware and software security configuration, hardening and lockdown activities.
- Knowledge of security tools, patching and antivirus management.
- Basic knowledge of backup and restore activities, business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Understanding of threat intelligence, emerging threats and common attack vectors.
- Ability to handle classified and sensitive information in accordance with applicable security procedures.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Spanish is considered an additional asset but is not mandatory.
- Experience in GNSS, aerospace or other critical infrastructures is considered a strong plus.
- Cybersecurity certifications such as GSEC, GIAC, CISSP or CCSP are considered an advantage.
- Eligibility for security clearance.
- Availability to work on-site in Torrejón. Partial remote working may be agreed with the Customer upon contract start.
- Willingness to provide on-call support outside regular working hours.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As part of the cybersecurity team, you will contribute to the day-to-day security operations and administration of the E-GNSS Transversal infrastructure.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and analyse security events, logs and alerts from Firewalls, IDS/IPS and SIEM platforms, identifying potential threats and anomalies.
- Investigate security incidents and suspicious activities, supporting incident response, mitigation and corrective actions.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, evaluate and prioritise risks, and support patching and remediation activities.
- Manage user access and permissions, including account creation, modification, revocation, token management and account unblocking, following the principle of least privilege.
- Manage security keys and digital certificates, including credential renewal and revocation.
- Support the administration and maintenance of security devices and technologies, including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), Data Diodes, Gateways and other security components.
- Apply secure configurations, hardening and lockdown procedures to hardware and software components.
- Manage security patches, antivirus and other security tools, ensuring that security solutions remain correctly configured and operational.
- Monitor emerging cyber threats and attack vectors and contribute to threat intelligence activities.
- Support access control reviews,
security compliance activities and the implementation and validation of cybersecurity controls.
- Perform backup and restore activities and support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Handle classified and sensitive information, including data extraction, import/export and sanitisation activities, in accordance with applicable security procedures.
- Apply appropriate encryption and data-protection measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
- Support security audits, penetration tests and compliance checks, providing the required operational evidence and documentation.
- Contribute to cybersecurity documentation, reports and KPIs, including vulnerability, network, mitigation and lockdown reports.
- Develop and maintain security procedures related to cybersecurity administration and operations.
- Collaborate with IT and other technical teams to identify infrastructure and operational anomalies and improve the overall security posture.
- Participate in operational activities associated with the Galileo dual-site infrastructure and support the backup site when required.
- Support handover simulation exercises and, when necessary, provide temporary on-site support at the Toulouse backup site.
- Provide on-call support outside regular working hours and support unplanned handovers when activated.

- Junior: €28,000 – €35,000
- Senior: €42,000 – €52,000
