ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Fleet Technical Manager for PBH (Power-By-the-Hour) contracts, you will serve as the primary technical lead and liaison between IAG Engine Tech and PBH airline customers. Your focus will be optimizing the technical, operational, and financial performance of engine fleets. The role connects Engine On-Wing performance monitor, Removal Planning, Workscope definition and Shop Visit execution.

You will ensure that technical decisions are robust, operationally effective and aligned with cost, turnaround time and program performance objectives.

CORE RESPONSABILITIES

Technical Customer Interface

Act as the trusted technical advisor to airline PBH clients. Conduct regular technical reviews, define optimized maintenance tasks, and ensure PBH contract compliance.

Fleet Health Monitoring & Availability Management

Analyze engine performance data (trend monitoring, fault analysis, shop visits) to propose proactive maintenance strategies. Aim to enhance time-on-wing and reduce unscheduled removals.

Engine Removal Planning & Cost Control

Create short- and long-term engine removal scenarios. Coordinate with MRO shops to manage workscope execution, track costs vs. forecasts, and implement corrective actions as needed.

MRO Coordination

Work closely with in-house and external repair shops, ensuring maintenance scopes align with PBH contracts.



Monitor execution quality and regulatory compliance (EASA, FAA, CAA).

Continuous Improvement

Identify and escalate early technical signals (“weak signals”), support root-cause investigations, and feed improvements back to OEM/PBH engineering teams.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master’s in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. 3–5 years in technical support of turbofan engines (PBH roles at OEMs like Safran, CFM, or airlines' engine engineering).

Engine Technical Expertise

Deep familiarity with CFM56, LEAP, V2500, and RB211 engines; workscope management; trend-monitoring techniques.

Analytical and Planning Skills

Strong data analysis skills, budgeting capabilities, and experience with engine removal planning. Comfortable with AMOS, ERP, Excel. Problem Solving

Communication & Leadership

Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal). Strong interpersonal, multicultural engagement, and customer relationship skills. Excellent team player

Mobility & Adaptability

Willingness to travel throughout Europe (~5–10%), adaptable during maintenance and AOG events.

Desirable Regulatory & MRO Knowledge

Understanding of EASA/AESA regulatory frameworks, engine certification processes, and workshop interface protocols.
