Role Description The Loading Master is a full-time, on-site role based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the safe and efficient loading and discharge of marine fuels. This role involves supervising vessel and terminal operations, including cargo planning, monitoring transfer rates, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

The Loading

Master works closely with vessel crews, terminal staff, surveyors, and internal operations teams to verify documentation, conduct pre-loading checks, and resolve operational issues. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment, confirming product specifications, maintaining accurate records of volumes and timings, and reporting deviations or incidents. The position also supports continuous improvement in loading procedures, contributes to compliance with regulatory and company policies, and helps ensure timely, reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

- Strong operational knowledge of marine fuel loading, ship-to-ship or ship-to-shore transfers, and port terminal procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety, environmental, and quality standards relevant to bunkering, including practical experience with risk assessments and incident prevention.
- Experience coordinating with vessel crews, surveyors, port authorities, and internal operations teams, with clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to read and work with cargo plans, loading schedules, and operational documentation, with solid attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy.




- Proficiency in using basic digital tools and operational software for reporting, documentation, and communication.
- Prior experience in marine operations, bunkering, oil & gas terminal work, or a related field; familiarity with Las Palmas port operations is an advantage.
- Relevant technical or maritime education, certification, or vocational training; STCW or similar maritime qualifications are a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in a physically demanding environment, including irregular hours, shifts, and vessel-based activities, in line with safety and company guidelines.
- Native level in Spanish language is a "MUST". Professional working proficiency in English;
