Material Planning Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Material Planning Manager to join automotive company and support our automotive manufacturing operations in Spain.

The role is responsible for ensuring material availability, optimizing inventory levels, managing production planning processes and maintaining smooth production continuity. The idóneo candidate will have strong experience in automotive manufacturing environments, with solid expertise in MRP, SAP/ERP systems and cross-functional supply chain coordination.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end material planning processes, ensuring timely availability of materials to support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain material requirement plans through MRP/MPS processes, balancing production demand, supplier capacity and inventory levels.
- Monitor material shortages, supply risks and delivery performance, proactively implementing corrective actions to avoid production disruptions.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering and suppliers to ensure smooth material flow and production continuity.
- Optimize inventory levels, safety stock and replenishment parameters to improve inventory efficiency while maintaining service levels.
- Support production planning activities, including production scheduling,



capacity alignment and priority management.
- Analyze supply chain performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Participate in S&OP; processes, supporting demand, supply and capacity alignment.
- Maintain and improve planning processes through SAP/ERP systems.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in Material Planning, Production Planning or Supply Chain Planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- MRP / MPS
- SAP PP/MM or similar ERP systems
- Production Planning
- Inventory Management
- Supplier Coordination
- Capacity Planning
- Experience working with manufacturing plants and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluent Spanish and good English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive manufacturing, EV or high-volume production environments.
- Experience managing complex BOM structures and multi-level material planning.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement or APICS methodologies.
- Previous team leadership or project management experience.
