The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing integral public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
ISGlobal is seeking a Technician who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project: MOLECULAR INSIGHTS OF CRYPTIC ERYTHROCYTIC INFECTIONS IN THE HUMAN MALARIA CAUSED BY PLASMODIUM VIVAX (CRYPTICVIVAX).



The overall project goal is to unveil molecular insights of the newly described cryptic erythrocytic infections of this species using organs-on-a-chip.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Isolation and purification of extracellular vesicles from plasma and in vitro culture.
- Conducting experiments in microfluidic devices. Experience in this area is a pre-requisite.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Extracellular vesicles: isolation, purification, characterization through different technologies such as size-exclusion chromatography, immunocapture, FACs analysis, Western blot, nanoparticle tracking analysis.
- Cell and parasite in vitro cultures.
- Organ-on-a-chip: help with 3D seeding, 3D microcultures, imaging.
