We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Modeler to take ownership of enterprise data modelling and governance as part of a major SAP ECC to SAP HANA/S/4HANA migration programme.

About the Role

This is a high-impact role where you’ll be the authoritative voice on data structures, semantics and integrity, working across Finance, Supply Chain and other business domains to ensure data is accurately understood, mapped and ready for migration. You’ll sit at the intersection of business and technology, working closely with data engineering teams, business stakeholders and subject matter experts to create scalable, well-governed data models that support both migration and future analytics.

Responsibilities

- Own the data modelling workstream for SAP ECC to SAP HANA/S/4HANA migration initiatives across multiple business domains.
- Analyse source and target data structures, identify differences and define the transformation logic required to bridge them.
- Create precise, implementation-ready data models and source-to-target mapping specifications for data engineering teams.
- Work directly with Finance, Supply Chain and other domain experts to validate business semantics and ensure critical information is retained through migration.
- Partner with BI and analytics teams to ensure migrated data continues to support reporting and analytical requirements.
- Define and govern modelling standards, naming conventions and documentation practices across domains.
- Maintain a living catalogue of source-to-target mappings and migrated data models.




- Ensure clear structural contracts between the integrated historised layer and business-facing consumption layer.
- Apply data modelling best practices across the relevant layers of a Medallion Architecture.
- Translate complex business requirements and domain knowledge into rigorous, scalable data structures.

Qualifications

- SAP Data Modelling Expertise
- Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP HANA/S/4HANA data models, particularly across Finance and Supply Chain — this is critical to the role.
- Strong understanding of how SAP organises key business entities across Finance and Supply Chain.
- Understanding of the structural differences between SAP ECC and S/4HANA and how these impact data modelling and migration.
- Experience working within multi-instance SAP landscapes and understanding their implications for data integration.
- Proven ability to translate source-to-target system differences into accurate, migration-ready data models.

Required Skills

- Data Modelling & Engineering
- Working knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 and dimensional modelling, ideally applied within enterprise data environments.
- Experience governing data models across integrated/historised and business-facing consumption layers.




- Solid understanding of Medallion Architecture and modelling responsibilities across its layers.
- Experience with data modelling tools and a good understanding of how models translate into ETL/ELT patterns.
- Ability to produce clear, unambiguous specifications that data engineering teams can implement without constant clarification.

Preferred Skills

- Experience & Collaboration
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise data modelling, with a track record of delivering scalable and well-governed data models in complex environments.
- Experience working at the intersection of business and technology, translating domain knowledge into structured data models.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain modelling decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable collaborating with data engineers, business SMEs, BI teams and other technology stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and a commitment to data quality and integrity.
