Disability Support Worker – Kidgell Street [Supported Independent Living]
We have a Permanent Part time opportunity for a Disability Support Worker at Kidgell Street, Lilydale
- Total hours per fortnight: 31.5
- Roster Line: 9
About You
- You’ll work with a range of customers with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, including complex behaviours of concern (BOC)
- Demonstrate a proactive approach, anticipating client needs and responding effectively to changing situations
- Provide person-centred support that empowers each client to express choice and independence in how they want to be supported in their day-to-day lives
- Assist clients with aspects of daily living needs in their homes and at times out in the community, including personal care, meal assistance,
medication administration, and behaviour support
- Maintain a calm and composed approach in high-intensity environments, ensuring safety and positive outcomes
- Be an effective and strong communicator, able to collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and external support networks
- Work collaboratively within a team while also being confident to work independently
