1. Position Identification
Job Title: Finance Manager – Spain
Department / Area: Finance
Functional Location: Madrid or 100% remote from other areas in Spain
2. Purpose of the Position
To take ownership of the day-to-day finance, accounting and payroll activities of the Group’s Spanish entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information, statutory compliance and effective financial controls.
The role will support the Group CFO in the transition of accounting and payroll activities from external providers to an efficient in-house finance function in Spain.
3. Functional Reporting and Relationships
Functionally reports to: Group CFO
Works closely with: Group Finance team, Spanish operational teams, HR/Corporate, external tax advisers and auditors.
Direct reports: (if applicable) Spanish accounting team.
4. Duties and Responsibilities
Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting and finance activities of the Spanish company.
Manage the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger, bank and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Manage the monthly financial close and provide accurate and timely information to Group Finance.
Oversee payroll processing, Social Security and related payroll compliance.
Coordinate VAT, tax and other statutory filings, using external advisers where specialist support is required.
Maintain effective controls over payments, expenses, corporate cards, fixed assets and accounting records.
Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
Support cash-flow monitoring, payment planning and working-capital management.
Coordinate statutory audits and routine requirements from tax, payroll and other advisers.




Support the Group CFO in the transition of Spanish accounting and payroll activities from external providers to the internal finance team.
Manage and develop the Spanish finance team and implement finance processes and controls in line with Group requirements.
Escalate financial, compliance or operational issues to the Group CFO.
5. Technical Requirements
Degree in Accounting and Finance or related.
5-7 years of relevant finance / accounting experience, including experience for the full accounting cycle.
Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting, VAT, payroll and statutory requirements.
Experience with monthly closing and financial reporting.
Previous experience supervising a finance/accounting team.
Strong Excel and accounting / ERP system skills.
Fluent Spanish and good working English.

7. Relationships and Impact of the Position
Acts as the main finance contact for the Spanish entities and ensures that Spanish financial information is accurate, timely and compliant.
The position supports the Group CFO by providing effective local finance ownership and reducing reliance on external providers.
8. Performance Evaluation
Performance will be assessed based on the accuracy and timeliness of financial closing and payroll, statutory compliance, quality of reconciliations and controls, successful transition of outsourced activities in-house, effective management of the Spanish finance team, and timely reporting to Group Finance.
9. Observations
The role is expected to develop as the Spanish operations and internal finance function grow. Responsibilities may therefore be adjusted according to the operational needs of the Group.
