ESTIMATED TIME REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE DUTIES: 2 months.

The OPACA (Office for Highly Administratively Complex Research Projects) was established to provide support for certain research projects that frequently involve a large number of activities, posing significant challenges in terms of their scientific, technical and administrative management. The fact that these types of projects have a single person acting as Principal Investigator (PI) is often a requirement of the funding call, but does not reflect the complex nature of these projects.

Dividing a project into sub-projects with different people responsible for each of them responds to the need to address the various scientific components in a specialised and coordinated manner, improving monitoring through the autonomous management of each sub-project. This structure better reflects the practical implementation of the project, promotes management efficiency, fosters collaboration among research groups, and enables better allocation of resources, as well as more rigorous monitoring of technical and scientific progress, financial planning, resource allocation and expenditure justification.

The purpose of this recruitment is to coordinate the management of Highly Administratively Complex Research Projects in cooperation with the Vice-Directorate for Research Management (Vicegerencia de Gestión da Investigación) and the OPCTI (Office for Research Projects, Knowledge Transfer and Innovation) .

The funding for the contract may be fully or partially covered by any other project or grant assigned to the Research Line, including before the end of the initial months, provided that there is adequate and sufficient funding available.

Pursuant to Article 5 of Instruction 2/2025, of 17 March 2025, issued by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer, which regulates the registration of research and strategic lines and the recruitment of research staff under employment contracts funded through research lines, the validity of this open-ended contract is subject to the continued need for the duties and the availability of adequate and sufficient funding within the research line. The exhaustion of the funding allocated to the line, or the completion of the technical activities that justify the position without the possibility of reassignment, shall constitute objective grounds for termination of the contract (Article 52.e of the Spanish Workers' Statute).

Bachelor’s Degree / Licentiate Degree / Diploma

- General merits: All degrees and certificates must be submitted in a legible PDF format.
- Professional experience: An up-to-date Employment History Report (Informe de Vida Laboral) is mandatory, together with the relevant employment contracts (or proof of registration with the Spanish Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) for self-employed applicants).
