Mathematics Specialist (Masters/PhDs) - AI Training

About The Role

What if your deep expertise in mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons through the world's most complex problems? We're looking for Mathematics Specialists to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models — crafting rigorous problems, stress-testing mathematical reasoning, and ensuring AI gets the math right.

This is a fully remote, adaptable contract role built for people who think precisely, work independently, and take genuine satisfaction in mathematical depth and correctness. Training and onboarding support will be provided.

What You'll Do

- Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and clear pedagogical value
- Design complex problem statements across algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas
- Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning for accuracy, rigor, and logical coherence
- Identify errors, gaps in reasoning, and areas where AI mathematical output falls short
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance
- Ensure mathematical clarity and depth across all deliverables — notation, logic, and exposition included





Who You Are

- Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
- Deep subject-matter expertise in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
- Comfortable writing and running code in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or applied problems
- Precise, clear communicator — you can explain complex ideas without sacrificing accuracy
- Self-directed and reliable when working independently on structured, task-based assignments
- Fluent in English

Nice to Have

- Prior experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or AI quality workflows
- Background in academic research, curriculum development, or mathematical writing
- Familiarity with formal proof writing or computational mathematics tools
- Experience reviewing or editing technical mathematical content
