* Finance Manager - Venture-Backed Biotech - Barcelona * I am currently partnering with a well-funded, clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Barcelona that is looking to appoint a Finance Manager as a key addition to its growing finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a unique opportunity to become the first strategic finance hire and play a central role in building and professionalising the company's finance function. The position offers broad exposure across financial control, FP&A;, treasury, grants management, compliance, and operational finance, with significant visibility across the leadership team. Key areas of responsibility include: Ownership of accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business partnering. Cash management, treasury activities, and runway planning. Implementation of finance systems, processes, and internal controls. Management of grants, R&D; incentives, and funding-related reporting.



Coordination of audits, tax compliance, payroll oversight, and external advisors. The business is entering an exciting phase of growth and is seeking an individual who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment while helping to build scalable infrastructure for the future. Candidates should ideally bring: 5–8+ years of finance experience across accounting and FP&A.; Experience within biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or another R&D-intensive; environment, although strong candidates from a Big Four background will also be considered. Knowledge of Spanish GAAP, with IFRS exposure viewed favourably. Experience supporting senior stakeholders and driving process improvements. A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and at a detailed execution level. Location: Barcelona (Hybrid)
