Senior Technical Asset Manager (Wind & solar)An IPP backed by an investment fund is looking for a Senior Technical Asset Manager to join its team in Madrid, Spain, and work closely with the Head of Asset Management and the PortfolioManagers.This role will perform technical asset management activities for offshore wind farm,based together with a regulated solar PV operating portfolio in Spain.The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing energy production andrevenues, identifying cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring the availability, transparency,and actionable use of information across both solar and wind technologies.ResponsibilitiesAsset Management & Technical Oversight Lead technical asset management activities for the assigned wind assets,while supporting solar PV technical management activities. Oversee and manage the daytoday relationship with Service Providers (AssetManagement and O&M;), ensuring full compliance with contractualobligations. Monitor and manage thirdparty service providers (insurance providers, marketagents, etc.). Develop a detailed understanding of SPVlevel contracts, including O&M;, assetmanagement, grid, land, and commercial agreements. Supervise compliance with technical, commercial, legal, and regulatoryrequirements. Review and challenge Service Provider policies, procedures, and processes toensure contractual, procedural, and legislative compliance. Review monthly operational and maintenance reports, identifyunderperformance or contractual deviations, and define corrective actions. Conduct plant inspections and assess technical condition, availability, andreliability of assets. Monitor and oversee cybersecurity compliance related to asset operations. Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements and effective claimsmanagement.Performance, Analytics & Optimization Define, monitor,
and report on technical and economic KPIs across wind andsolar portfolios. Perform indepth performance analysis, benchmarking assets internally andexternally. Prepare regular performance and portfolio comparison reports, highlightingvalue drivers, deviations, and risks. Identify and implement technical, operational, and contractual optimizationinitiatives. Support the evaluation of lifetime extension, repowering, and optimizationoptions, particularly for wind assets.OPEX & Cost-control focus Lead OPEX monitoring and costcontrol activities across managed portfolios. Identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining or improving assetperformance and reliability. Monitor asset revenues and collaborate with internal stakeholders to explainvariances and risks.Stakeholder Management & Strategic Support Act as technical interface with key stakeholders, including O&M; providers,market agents, landowners, regulatory bodies, and suppliers. Maintain regular interaction with UKbased partners and customers,particularly for offshore wind assets. Support technical M&A; activities, including due diligence, technicalassessments, and integration planning. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of internalreporting frameworks and assetmanagement tools.Competencies Strong, demonstrable understanding of wind energy technology – offshore windpreferred,
onshore wind accepted with deep technical experience Solid understanding of solar PV technology and regulated projects (RD 413/2014experience required) Good understanding of legal concepts governing Asset Management and O&Mcontracts; Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1/C2 level minimum) – this rolerequires direct interaction with British customers, partners, and peers on a regularbasis Excellence edge – a relentless drive for quality and continuous improvement ineverything you do Autonomous and proactive – ability to develop own workstreams and work acrossmany different functions Strong aptitude to learn complex concepts (tax rules, energy policy, financialstructures, corporate structures, business models, etc.) Good team player with outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) Highly analytical personality – comfortable extracting and analyzing large amountsof data; Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting, data validation)to analyze operational data and build reusable dashboards. PowerPoint proficiency to synthesize technical information into clear, executive-ready presentations (narrative structure, visual clarity, speed of execution). Hands-on experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project,Planner) to track schedules, milestones, and resources in O&M; environments. Practical SCADA experience extracting and interpreting time-series data (trends,alarms, performance curves), focused on efficiency, availability, and forecastingreports – not system administration or Valid drivers licenseEducation and experience Bachelor’s and-or master’s degree in relevant discipline (Engineering or similar); Between 4 and 10 years’ experience within the renewable energy industry workingin the implementation and/or asset management/O&M; projects; Demonstrable experience working with wind assets (offshore wind farms highlyappreciated); Demonstrable experience working with PV regulated assets; Technical knowledge of other renewable energy technologies is appreciated;
