We are looking for a
Software Support Engineer
to join a leading international partner in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will support the development and validation of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems for powertrain applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and development of technical requirements for current and future powertrain electrical/electronic On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Act as the main technical interface between Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Controls teams and the Technical Safety Regulatory Compliance (TSRC) department, translating regulatory requirements into clear software and algorithm specifications.
- Prepare and present technical diagnostic documentation and reports to the TSRC department, facilitating alignment between compliance and engineering teams.
- Develop OBD validation checklists for new or modified hardware components.
- Define and implement Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) strategies in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and software teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex diagnostic system issues.
- Support the continuous improvement of diagnostic strategies and compliance processes throughout the product development lifecycle.
Mandatory Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of
5 years of experience
in the automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience with
On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)
systems and
SCANTOOL protocols
.
- Knowledge of
ECU calibration and validation
processes.
- Basic understanding of
hybrid powertrains
and their key components, including:
Engine ECU
Power Electronics
DC/DC Converter
High-Voltage Battery
On-Board Charger
