About Hispansion
Hispansion develops advanced planetary regolith simulants and technologies for lunar and Martian exploration. As an ESA BIC Madrid Region startup, we work with universities, research institutions and space organizations worldwide to advance planetary surface technologies.
About the Role
We are looking for a final-year Master's student to join our R&D; team.
Your primary objective will be to complete the development of Hispansion's first Martian regolith simulant, helping transform a mature R&D; project into a commercial product. Along the way, you'll gain hands-on experience in planetary materials, product development, laboratory work and industrial R&D.;
This internship is intended as a pathway into the company. Subject to performance and funding, there may be an opportunity to continue with Hispansion in a part-time or full-time position from January 2027.
ResponsibilitiesMartian Regolith Simulant Development (~60–70%)
- Finalise the first Martian regolith simulant prototype.
- Qualify raw material suppliers.
- Support prototype validation and refinement.
- Coordinate material characterization.
- Prepare TDS, SDS and technical documentation.
- Support packaging development and product launch.
R&D; Support (~30–40%)
- Supporting research paper writing.
- Participation in outreach events.
- Support the team with Plant the Moon and Build the Moon Challenges.
- General R&D; activities across the company.
What We're Looking ForRequired
- Final-year Master's student in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Mining or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
