Role Description
The Animal Care Technician role at Uniivo is a full-time, on-site position based in Barcelona. This role involves providing daily care to laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal behavior and wellbeing. The technician assists with basic health checks, records observations, and reports any signs of illness or distress to the supervising team. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and compliant facility,



following established protocols and regulations, and supporting routine laboratory procedures related to animal handling. The role requires collaboration with scientific staff and adherence to ethical and welfare standards in animal research.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Animal Care and Animal Work, with the ability to follow welfare and ethical guidelines.
- Knowledge of Animal Health and basic health monitoring practices, including recognizing signs of stress or illness.
- Experience with Pet Care or comparable hands-on experience with animals in shelters, clinics, or research settings.
- Foundational Laboratory Skills related to animal handling, sanitation, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols, maintain accurate documentation, and comply with regulatory standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
