The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is a great school in a wonderfullocation. We are an HMC school and were judged by a recent BSO (British SchoolsOverseas) inspection to be outstanding in every area, including quality ofeducation, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academic outcomes.

BSB is a large, very popular school for children aged 3 to 18. Our curriculumis based on the English National Curriculum, and we offer a wide range ofGCSEs, A levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, all alongside asignificant enrichment programme.

Over 2000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities attend the school and over 315staff work at BSB, across three locations. In 2026 we will be expanding ourschool, adding a state of the art campus at Maresme, east of Barcelona city.The campus will initially enrol students from Nursery to Year 6 in 2026,expanding to Year 13 in 2028. This is an exciting new development with arange of specialist facilities including: state of the art classrooms, sciencelabs, fully equipped music and art facilities and rehearsal spaces, dedicatedplay, social and study spaces, and indoor and outdoor sports facilities all setin stunning surroundings with the mountains as a backdrop and the coast as theframe. About the Role

We are recruiting anEAL Teacher withAdditionalResponsibilitiesto join BSB Maresme.

As a Teacher at BSB, you will deliver an engaging and innovative curriculumthat inspires young learners to thrive academically, personally, and socially.You will create a positive learning environment and set highexpectations. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to whole-schoolpriorities, collaborate with colleagues, and uphold the highest safeguardingstandards.

As EAL Teacher & Language Centre Lead, you willoversee the day-to-day operation of the Language Centre while deliveringhigh-quality English language programmes for students requiring additionallanguage support.

You will assess language proficiency, design and deliver targetedinterventions, monitor student progress, and work closely with families andteachers to ensure students reach their full potential. The role also plays akey part in supporting new student admissions, developing innovative languageprogrammes, and contributing to the continued growth and success of theLanguage Centre.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess English language proficiency and learning needs
- Deliver targeted EAL support for individuals and small groups
- Track progress, maintain records, and adapt programmes
- Manage Language Centre student cases
- Work with staff and parents to support student success

Admissions & Family Engagement





- Assess prospective students' English levels
- Advise families on language support options
- Support admissions and student transitions

Leadership & Operations

- Oversee daily Language Centre operations
- Manage timetabling, enrolment, attendance, billing, and records
- Monitor student outcomes, participation, and retention

Growth & Development

- Drive Language Centre growth and programme development
- Partner with Admissions and Marketing to promote services
- Support community engagement and school events
- Develop new learning opportunities and expand provision across campuses
- Produce KPI and performance reports

About You

BSB Maresme are looking for an experienced EAL professional who combineseducational excellence with strong organisational and relationship-buildingskills.

Essential Requirements

- TEFL, CELTA, Trinity TESOL, DELTA, or equivalent English language teachingqualification
- Significant experience delivering English language intervention programmes
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition and language development
- Experience assessing English proficiency and planning targeted interventions
- Experience communicating effectively with parents and stakeholders
