1. WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Cube Golem Iberia is the Spanish company of the Cube Golem group, starting operations from a new logistics centre in Constantí. Until now the accounting has sat with an external gestoría. We are bringing the day-to-day books in house so that the company has one single set of numbers — the ones the business runs on and the ones that are filed — and someone inside the company who can explain them.
This is a hands-on role. There is no finance team to delegate to, and there will not be one for some time. The person we are looking for registers the supplier invoice, chases the customer, reconciles the bank, closes the month, and then explains what the numbers mean.
2. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts payable and receivable — the core of the job
- Receive, check and register supplier invoices; match against purchase orders and goods receipts; resolve discrepancies with suppliers and with the warehouse.
- Prepare the payment run for approval by the General Manager. Payments are released by the GM, never by this role.
- Issue customer invoices, credit notes and account statements.
- Manage collections: chase overdue accounts, escalate where needed, keep the aged debtor position current and accurate.
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a continuous basis.
- Maintain supplier and customer master data, and submit changes — including bank details — for approval.
Bookkeeping and month-end close
- Keep the general ledger in the ERP in accordance with the Plan General Contable.
- Month-end: accruals, prepayments, amortisation, cut-off, stock and intercompany balances with the French parent.
- Prepare the periodic tax data (modelos 303, 349, 347, 111, 115) for review and filing by the gestoría.
- Prepare the quarterly file for the gestoría's review and respond to their findings.
Reporting and controlling
- Monthly reporting pack in group format, delivered to a fixed calendar deadline.
- Aged debtors and aged creditors.
- Rolling short-term (13-week) cash forecast.
- Budget against vigente, with a short written commentary explaining the variances — the commentary matters as much as the table.
Finance and legal administration
- Contract register: what we have signed, with whom, and the renewal and notice dates.
- Document filing and structure in SharePoint.
- Insurance and lease paperwork: renewals, certificates, support on claims.
- Support to the General Manager on corporate and administrative documentation.
Single point of contact
- The gestoría, the bank, and group finance in France. One person, one channel, no gaps.
- Communication with the group and with colleagues across Europe is in English, weekly.
3. WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- It is not a management position. There is no team at the start.
- It is not general office administration, reception or purchasing support.
- It is not a role where the accounting happens somewhere else and you file the paperwork.
4. HOW INTERNAL CONTROL WORKS The separation of duties is deliberate and documented:
- This role prepares and books.
- The General Manager countersigns every payment run and the monthly bank reconciliation, and approves new suppliers and changes to bank details.
- The gestoría reviews the books quarterly and signs off the statutory filings, the annual accounts and payroll.
Candidates should be comfortable working inside a control framework and read it as normal professional practice.
5. REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- CFGS en Administración y Finanzas, or a degree in ADE, Economía or Finanzas.
- Minimum four years of full-cycle accounting inside a company, or in an asesoría with end-to-end responsibility for client ledgers.
- Solid, current knowledge of the Plan General Contable and of Spanish periodic tax obligations.
- Demonstrable accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation experience at volume.
- Excel at a working level: pivot tables, lookups, and the ability to build a report that someone else can read without help.
- Experience working inside an ERP (Business Central, SAP, Sage, A3, Odoo or similar) rather than in spreadsheets beside one.
- English at a genuine working level, B2 or above. This is used, not decorative.
- Spanish;
- Catalan and Portuguese an advantage.
Desirable
- Intra-community transactions and day-to-day dealings with a foreign parent company.
- A distribution, logistics or product business with stock.
- Power BI or an equivalent reporting tool.
- Experience building a process from scratch rather than inheriting one.
Who fits Someone who would rather own the whole finance cycle in a small company than one slice of it in a large one. Precise, organised, and willing to say clearly when something does not add up.
6. WHERE CAN IT GO FROM HERE
There is a real path from here to Finance Manager Iberia: more controlling, more analysis, and eventually a small team as the operation grows. It is earned against defined deliverables, not promised by date.
Salary is reviewed at six and twelve months against agreed measures: a clean monthly close by a fixed date each month, accuracy of the cash forecast, debtor days, and the outcome of the gestoría's quarterly review.
