Mechanical Design Engineer Imagine standing at the edge of aerospace innovation, designing mechanisms that need to move faster, react quicker, and perform reliably in extreme environments. You will be helping develop the mechanical systems behind next-generation UAV technology, where every calculation, tolerance, assembly, and design decision directly contributes to speed, autonomy, precision, and reliability. Our client is a fast-growing aerospace and defence technology company developing advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle systems for mission-critical applications.
Their technology is designed to support modern defence operations through speed, precision, and cost-effective innovation. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-performance aerospace systems and contribute to the future of flight. Create detailed CAD designs, including part modelling, assemblies, drafting, and technical drawings Work with Siemens NX or similar CAD tools Apply strong mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals Use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, GD&T;, in design work Design with manufacturing and assembly in mind,
applying DFM and DFA principles Use engineering analysis tools such as FEA/FEM where required Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supplier teams Manage multiple design activities and projects in a fast-paced environment Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering ~3+ years of mechanical design experience in a precision engineering environment ~ Strong experience with CAD design, ideally Siemens NX or similar ~ Good understanding of mechanical design for high-performance or safety-critical systems ~ Experience working with technical suppliers to ensure design requirements are met ~ You enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and thrive in a fast-moving technical environment.
You are practical, curious, and comfortable working closely with other engineering disciplines to bring ideas from concept through to real-world application. You are not afraid to challenge conventional design thinking, test ideas, and refine solutions until they meet the required level of performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Collaborate with highly skilled engineers from across the world
