VHIR is seeking a Study Coordinator to join the Neurodegenerative Diseases Group. The research conducted by our group is aimed at elucidating the causes and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease (PD), a disabling and currently incurable neurodegenerative disorder. To this end, we conduct clinical and pre-clinical translational research in both patients with PD and human-relevant experimental in vitro and in vivo PD-related models.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Data entry for Phase I, II, III and IV clinical trials and research projects in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
- Keep clinical data in Case Report Forms (CRFs) up to date using source documents.
- Respond to queries and provide timely feedback to sponsors and the clinical team.
- Provide support to the clinical team and the Clinical Trial Coordination Unit.
- Ensure maximum adherence to the study protocol and minimise protocol deviations.
- Assist the research team with the tasks required for the development and conduct of studies.
- Attend site monitoring visits and review and resolve queries in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of projects, in collaboration with medical and technical teams, aimed at improving the quality of life of patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Nursing or another relevant scientific discipline.
- Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical trial methodology is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of fluency in written and spoken English.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email.
- An organised and methodical approach, with a high level of motivation and initiative.
- Ability to respond promptly to requests from the team and sponsors.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
