Job description:
The ORTCAT project "L’Ortodòxia i la política de pertinença:
(Des)radicalització i inclusió democràtica a la diàspora romanesa a Catalunya", coordinated by Prof. Camil Ungureanu, aims to analyse the relationship between Eastern Orthodox communities and far-right voting patterns and political preferences in Catalunya.
The project combines theory and empirical research in order to better understand the ideological, religious, and socio-political factors shaping electoral behaviour within the Romanian diaspora in Catalunya.
The research team involves partners from different universities, but the coordinator is located at the UPF Ciutadella Campus, where the Research Assistant (RA) will work online and do field work.
The RA will contribute primarily to the empirical dimensions of the project (especially field work and data analysis).
Main responsibilities:
1) To conduct interviews in Romanian with members of the Romanian diaspora and Orthodox communities in Catalunya, and to process, transcribe, and systematise the interviews.
2) To carry out data collection and analysis (including scraping and related digital research techniques) concerning the relationship between the Romanian diaspora and Orthodoxy.
3) To assist in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the findings and to contribute to the drafting
