Descripción de la oferta

Helvetia Caser is looking for a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our Corporate Property team.

This is a key position within a specialized, multi-location underwriting team, where you will play a critical role in driving profitable growth, ensuring technical excellence, and acting as a trusted reference for both internal teams and external partners.

This role goes beyond underwriting: you will be a technical leader, business enabler, and key liaison with brokers and commercial teams, contributing to strategic projects while strengthening underwriting discipline and portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Risk Assessment & Underwriting
- Evaluate, price, and underwrite complex Property risks (SME, Fire, and All Risks / TRDM).
- Deliver technically sound, profitable underwriting decisions.

- Portfolio & Business Management

- Manage and monitor portfolio performance: renewals, endorsements, and profitability.




- Ensure proper risk surveillance and alignment with underwriting guidelines.
- Track and manage agreements (volume and profitability).

- Technical Leadership

- Act as a go-to expert and technical reference within the team.
- Support and guide colleagues in complex underwriting decisions.
- Maintain and enhance underwriting standards and technical excellence.

- Broker & Commercial Interaction

- Build strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries (e.g., AON, WTW, and others).
- Provide technical support to the commercial network.
- Collaborate actively in business development and acquisition initiatives.

- Project & Cross-functional Collaboration

- Contribute to departmental and cross-functional projects.
- Coordinate with Risk Engineering for inspections and reporting follow-up.
- Support Claims team with underwriting-related technical expertise.

- Product & Knowledge Development

- Maintain and update product frameworks and segmentation strategies.
- Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements

- University degree (Engineering or technical fields highly valued).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in insurance, including:
- At least 5 years in Property underwriting within corporate/business lines.

- Solid technical expertise in property underwriting (deep,



hands-on experience required).
- Knowledge of reinsurance and coinsurance is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the Spanish insurance market.
- Fluency in English (B2/C1 level, written and spoken).
- Advanced user of IT tools and underwriting systems.
