Experteer Overview
In this role you apply marine modelling and data analysis to assess how discharges affect estuarine and coastal water quality. You join a national Marine team within Operations Catchment Services, collaborating to support evidence-based decisions on discharges, bathing water, and nutrient loads. You will interpret monitoring data and model outputs to inform environmental protection, partnering with stakeholders to ensure clear, trusted advice. This fixed-term position offers flexibility, training, and opportunities to influence policy across major projects.

• Assess impact of discharges on water quality across major areas (e.g., Nuclear New Build, infrastructure projects, Water Industry National Environment Programme)
• Model bathing water quality and nutrient loads in estuaries
• Review complex reports and communicate key issues to non-technical audiences
• Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection
• Summarise and communicate technical work; escalate challenges when needed




• Build strong relationships across dispersed team and external partners
• Use initiative to contribute to team work; delegate and deliver through others
• Travel for occasional national meetings as required

Responsabilidades
• Experience in data analysis
• Knowledge of modelling software
• Proficiency in Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS
• Experience with specialist packages like Mike or Cormix (advantage)
• Ability to review reports and communicate complex issues clearly
• Interpret monitoring data and model outputs for environmental protection
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement
• Comfort working in a virtual team and willingness to travel
