Experteer Overview
In this role you will support the development, qualification, and execution of welding activities for structural railway components (MIG, TIG, FSW). You will apply deep welding expertise alongside knowledge of rail standards, materials, and quality requirements to ensure EN 15085 and ISO 3834 compliance. You will also support automotive capabilities, advising production sites on technology choice, cost, and planning for serial equipment. This position offers exposure to cutting-edge welding tech in a high-impact, cross-functional environment.

• Support welding feasibility assessments during RFQs and projects
• Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and qualifications
• Define and optimize welding parameters with production teams
• Ensure compliance with EN 15085, ISO 3834 and customer requirements
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot welding issues
• Lead root cause analyses for defects and support continuous improvement




• Define inspection and testing plans and support audits and certifications
• Guide production sites on welding technologies, industrialization, and best practices

Responsabilidades
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, or related field
• Certified Welding Engineer qualification (IWE/EWE)
• Extensive hands-on welding experience (MIG, TIG, FSW)
• Knowledge of railway welding standards and quality requirements
• Understanding of aluminium materials (6xxx alloys) and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally
• Fluent English; German/French is a plus
