Senior UX Designer — Barcelona (Contract)

€425 to €450 per day | Barcelona, hybrid | Contract to June 2027 | Start: ASAP

Were hiring a Senior UX Designer for one of our clients, a general HR and payroll technology business with a well-established product and design team in Barcelona.

The role sits on a new product stream focused on simplifying HR processes for the people who actually use them. Not HR specialists. Ordinary employees, doing something once or twice a year, under time pressure, with no training and no patience.

Thats the design problem. Take processes built around payroll compliance and make them something a person can complete on their own without ringing HR.

The funding is separate from the main product roadmap, so this stream keeps moving while other teams are tied up on security and resiliency work. Youll have room to actually design rather than firefight.

What youll do

- Own UX end to end for features in the product, from discovery through to engineering handover
- Work with product managers and engineers in Barcelona and across the clients global teams
- Design within an established system, and improve it where it doesnt cover you




- Test with real users and back your decisions with what you find

What were after

Youre a senior generalist. Research, IA, interaction design, prototyping, and enough visual craft to ship work youre happy to put your name on.

Youve designed enterprise or B2B products where the user has a job to finish rather than an experience to enjoy. You can point at something complicated you made simple, and explain how you got there.

Fluent English. No other language needed.

Nice to have: HR tech, payroll, fintech, or anything where regulation sets the boundaries of what youre allowed to design.

One thing worth saying

The hiring manager isnt looking for the flashiest portfolio in the pile. This is process design more than surface design. A beautiful case study for an app that never shipped wont get you far. Bring the messy problem and the thinking.

Process
