Hays is partnering with a leading retail company to appoint a General Manager based in Valencia.
This is a high-impact leadership role that will play a key part in accelerating business growth, strengthening commercial performance, and shaping the future of the organization in Spain.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Buying & Marketing organization in Spain and drive commercial performance across key categories.
Develop and implement initiatives to improve sales performance and customer frequency.
Analyze the current organization, identify capability gaps and build a stronger, more effective team.
Lead supplier relationships, category strategy, assortment decisions and commercial planning.
Ensure strong alignment between Buying, Category Management and Marketing activities.
Optimize promotional plans and marketing initiatives to increase customer engagement and drive impulse purchases.
Identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives to improve profitability and business performance.




Work closely with international stakeholders to ensure alignment with group strategy and best practices.
We are looking for a commercially driven leader with experience in:
Buying and Category Management.
Retail, FMCG or Consumer Goods environments.
Commercial strategy and business development.
Supplier negotiation and relationship management.
Trade Marketing and promotional planning.
Team leadership, coaching and organizational development.
Driving transformation and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Proven experience in senior commercial leadership roles.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to influence and execute.
Experience managing cross-functional teams.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Fluent Spanish and English.
