About the Role

This is a full-time role for a Mechanical Design & R&D; Engineer at REEMOON Sorting Equipment in Spain. In this position, you will engage in various research and development tasks, being responsible for the mechanical design, development and implementation of automated machinery for the fruit and vegetable industry.

You will participate in the development of new products from the initial concept through design, prototyping, testing and validation, working closely with the automation and engineering teams in Spain and China.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize automated machinery and mechanical systems for a variety of projects in the Spain fruit and vegetable industry.

• Lead mechanical development projects from the initial concept, taking responsibility for the design, development and technical implementation of new products.

• Create 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Experience with PTC Creo Parametric is a plus.

• Collaborate with the automation team to complete the joint debugging of equipment, ensuring correct mechanical integration and optimizing equipment performance and stability.

• Participate in the construction, testing and validation of prototypes, industrial field testing, data acquisition and problem analysis to continuously improve system performance.





• Work with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure the correct implementation of mechanical designs and resolve technical issues during assembly and commissioning.

• Write R&D; technical documents, test reports, manufacturing documentation and other related technical materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

• Experience in the design and development of automated machinery, preferably customized / non-standard automation equipment such as box handling and logistics, filling, weighing, palletizing/de-palletizing, stacking, case packing and other packaging processes.

• Proficiency in mechanical design software, particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Knowledge in PTC Creo Parametric is a plus.

• Ability to take responsibility for and lead product development projects from the initial concept through prototype, testing and validation.

• Good understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding and assembly.

• Strong logical analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues during development and commissioning.

• Methodical, meticulous and consistent approach to engineering work.

• Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in an international engineering environment.

• Able to participate in prototype testing, equipment commissioning and occasional business trips.

Preferred Skills

• High experience in mechanical design for the fruit and vegetable, food, packaging or logistics industries.

• Experience with customized / non-standard automation equipment.

• Experience in developing products and machinery from the initial concept.

• Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin is highly advantageous.

• Experience with PTC Creo Parametric.

• Understanding of industrial automation systems and their mechanical integration.
