Data Governance & Data Modelling Specialist (Brussels) - Freelance

For a customer in Brussels, I am looking for a Data Governance/Modelling profile to join on a freelance basis.

Our customer is establishing a Data Governance and Modelling Task Force to define a future unified data model and assess the requirements for a unified database.

The initial focus is the conceptual modelling phase, translating business processes and requirements into a conceptual and logical data model and producing the supporting documentation required for the next stages of the programme.

The role will cover the full data modelling lifecycle from conceptual through logical to physical modelling, with the expectation that the project will progress into database design and implementation.

Please note this is preferred in 1 profile, but could be split into a governance architect and a technical specialist.

The focus is on:

- Establishing a conceptual data model
- Translating business processes and requirements into data structures




- Developing the logical data model
- Defining the supporting data governance artefacts
- Preparing for physical data modelling and database implementation
- Establishing data cataloguing processes and tooling
- Supporting the transition from modelling into database development

Responsibilities

- Lead workshops with business stakeholders to understand processes, requirements and data dependencies
- Translate business requirements into conceptual data models
- Develop logical data models based on business requirements
- Define entities, attributes, relationships and data structures
- Document data definitions and relationships

Requirements

- 5+ Years experience on Data Governance Topics
- 5+ Years on data modelling topics.
- Freelance
