We are working with a large international business expanding its IT Operations function. This is a strong opportunity for a junior engineer to build hands-on experience supporting highly available NoSQL databases within a modern, integral technology environment.

The role:
Support the full lifecycle of NoSQL databases, from deployment and configuration through to monitoring, optimisation and upgrades
Help maintain reliable, scalable database clusters across containerised and traditional environments
Build monitoring, alerting and automation to improve database performance and reduce manual work
Assist with incident response, capacity planning, documentation and disaster-recovery readiness
Collaborate with SRE, platform engineering and application teams on database-related projects

What we’re looking for:
~2+ years’ experience in IT Operations, SRE, database administration or infrastructure engineering




~ Hands-on exposure to at least one NoSQL technology, such as MongoDB, Cassandra or Elasticsearch
~ Good Linux administration and scripting skills, ideally Python and/or Shell
~ Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar automation tools
~ Exposure to Docker and/or Kubernetes
~ Understanding of monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation in distributed systems
~ Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication and a willingness to learn
~ Cloud certifications or knowledge of SQL databases would be beneficial
