What You’ll Do

Build, maintain, and scale backend services and their support tools

Participate in architectural definitions with a high degree of innovation and creativity





Work closely with product and experience teams to understand product specifications and influence the roadmap for the distributed tracing product at New Relic

Create automation and tooling to make our systems more scalable and easier to deploy

Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach; teams build and maintain their own software, including participating in on‑call rotations

Use AI tools to accelerate your development workflow, from writing and reviewing code to investigating production issues and helping the team adopt what works

Embrace a culture of technical excellence and shared knowledge

This role requires

Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling in production environments

Strong experience writing software in OOP languages (Kotlin, Java, Go, etc.) and comfort adapting to different languages and frameworks

Familiarity with asynchronous programming techniques
