Values Value is a recruiting company with expertise in game development and is currently looking for a talented Level Artist for an independent game development studio, which is focusing on PC/ Console Games. The studio's debut title, a narrative-driven third-person adventure, was published by a major indie publisher and released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch version later. Backed by an investment round the studio has already secured the funding to see its next project through to release. The team is now working on an unannounced project: a story-driven third-person action-adventure with Sekiro-like combat, rendered in a realistic yet grotesque “cast-iron-punk” aesthetic of the 17th–18th centuries.
As the new Level Artist, you will turn early blockouts into polished, photorealistic game levels, working closely with the Art Director to help define the look of this world.
For which tasks (responsibilities)?
- Turn blockouts into beautiful, photorealistic levels
- Build blockout level design for new levels, if you're interested in taking that on
- Adjust and prototype 3D assets to fit each level's composition, mood and lighting
- Work closely with the Art Director to define and maintain the visual quality bar
- Collaborate with environment art and level design as the team grows
What kind of professional are we looking for?
- A strong portfolio with game levels in a realistic style
- 3-5+ years of industry experience
- Excellent knowledge of UE5 (Level Editor, Landscape, Foliage, Lighting); experience with a different engine is fine as long as your portfolio is strong
- Comfortable working with 3D software for asset adjustment and prototyping
