Rocoto’s product suite spans ordering, delivery routing and payment, sales intelligence, inventory from images and voice, and streamlined payment workflows without requiring suppliers to finance credit. A unified customer memory sits at the core, preserving knowledge across channels while integrating with existing systems via desk, app, paper, scheduled email, or API. Rocoto AI is focused on building practical AI agents that handle the operational backbone of suppliers, freeing teams to focus on relationships and growth.

Role Description As a Founding Engineer at Rocoto AI, you will design, build, and deploy core product features that transform suppliers’ daily operations, from message ingestion and order processing to delivery, inventory, and payments workflows. You will work closely with the founders to shape the technical architecture, choose tooling, and establish engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, observability, and security.

Day to day, you will translate real customer problems into robust systems, integrate with third-party APIs and legacy ERPs, build and iterate on AI-powered agents,



and improve performance and reliability across the platform. You will also collaborate on product discovery, contribute to the roadmap, participate in customer calls when needed, and mentor future engineers as the team grows. This is a full-time, remote role with significant ownership over both technical direction and product outcomes.

Qualifications

- Strong software engineering skills in modern backend and/or full-stack development (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, or similar), including experience building production web services and APIs.
- Hands-on experience with data and AI systems, such as working with large language models, ML-driven workflows, data pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure; containers; CI/CD; monitoring and logging) to deploy, scale, and maintain reliable systems.
- Comfort integrating with external systems and APIs, particularly payment providers, messaging platforms, or ERP/warehouse systems.
- Ability to design pragmatic, maintainable architectures and write clean, well-tested code suitable for a fast-moving early-stage environment.
- Strong product and customer orientation, with the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, understand workflows, and turn ambiguous operational needs into clear technical solutions.
