PositionWe are looking to bring on board the Technical Director for the Purification Business, reporting to the CEO Purification.The Technical Director will be responsible for implementing technical and engineering strategies to ensure that business runs smoothly and that overall targets and standards are met. The person will be the Technical leader for all 5 sites of the Purification Business Line.Main responsibilities, and not limited, include:Work alongside other company directors to develop overall business strategies and advise on technical progression in particular, sharing performance updates and developing new areas of improvementAct as a technical representative for the company when speaking with clients and any other external partiesWork with HSE leaders and functional leaders to foster a safety-first culture, reduce operational risk, and minimize the environmental footprint of our company operations.Communicate the technical vision of the company internally to staff and externally to potential clients and others in the industry Design and sign-off technical strategies for new product developmentManage the resources used by all those whose role falls under their technical area of expertise and control the budget allocated to these teamsOversee the development of new products or systems from initial ideation to market release, focusing on ensuring technical soundness and the efficient use of technical resourcesAdvise new project development teams on technical strategy and implement methods for tracking project progressionMonitor the progress of projects and performance of project teams to ensure that high technical standards are being met, work is completed efficiently, and hard work is rewardedAnalyse potential technical risks before new business ventures and establish a risk assessment with preventative measuresResearch and build on existing knowledge of their sector and new developments within it to develop new processes and introduce tools that will lead to innovation and improve quality and reliability Oversee quality and compliance functions to ensure we are compliance in every country where we operateAdvise other company departments on technical factors where relevantRequirementsEducationAn Industrial Engineering or Chemistry Engineer degree is required.An MBA or a Masters in Director of Operations is preferred.Experience10 to 15 years of experience leading Technical Developments and implementations in the Chemical/Pharma industry.Experience in fine-chemicals or distillation is a plus.Experience leading HSE and R&D; areas.International multisite responsibility.Fluent in English.Skills & Other RequirementsA demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Orientation to results.Flexibility, adaptability.Location: Barcelona (Spain)Contract: PermanentWorking day: Full timeSector: EnergyVacancies: 1Discipline: ProductionWork modality: On site
