Country Manager – Spain

Position Summary

An established international freight forwarding and logistics organization is seeking a Country Manager to lead its operations in Spain. Reporting to regional leadership, this role carries full P&L; responsibility and oversees the local organization and its activities across the Spanish market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profitable growth, strengthening the company’s market position, ensuring operational excellence, and developing long-term relationships with key customers and strategic partners across Spain.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and execute the company’s business strategy in Spain.
- Drive profitable growth across freight forwarding and logistics services.
- Take full responsibility for the country P&L;, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring high service quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, agents, carriers, and strategic partners.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the Spanish market.
- Lead, coach, and develop the local team, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
- Strengthen collaboration between the Spanish organization and regional/general stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.




- Represent the company in the Spanish market and build a strong local network within the freight forwarding and logistics industry.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of leadership experience within international freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of managing a P&L; and delivering profitable commercial growth.
- Strong understanding of the Spanish freight forwarding and logistics market.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to develop business and build long-term customer relationships.
- Demonstrated operational leadership and experience managing and developing teams.
- Experience working within an international and multicultural organization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required; additional European languages would be an advantage.
