Quick-start contract leading a complex enterprise data-platform migration into GCP for a high-profile client.

This is a 6-month initial engagement with extension potential. The key requirement is hands-on GCP data migration architecture, with strong BigQuery target architecture and SQL optimisation experience.

This is not a general data architecture position; we need someone who has personally delivered enterprise data migration work into GCP in a real production environment.

Your Mission

You will own the architecture and delivery approach for a major data-platform migration into GCP, with a focus on BigQuery target architecture, SQL performance optimisation and senior ownership across migration workstreams.

You will work closely with engineering, data, platform and business stakeholders to make sure the migration is technically sound, performant and clearly documented.

The strongest candidates will be able to explain what they personally designed, built, migrated, implemented or operated.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead architecture across enterprise data migration workstreams into GCP





• Define and refine BigQuery target architecture for production use

• Review, optimise and troubleshoot complex SQL workloads

• Support migration planning, sequencing, risk management and technical decision-making

• Work with engineering and data teams to improve reliability, performance and maintainability

• Translate business and technical requirements into practical migration designs

• Review existing data-platform patterns and recommend improvements

• Collaborate with stakeholders in fluent English

• Produce clear architecture, migration and handover documentation
