Defensive Security Engineer
We are looking for a
Defensive Security Consultant
to join an international cybersecurity team focused on threat detection, security monitoring, and incident response. The selected candidate will play a key role in protecting critical platforms and systems through a hands-on engineering approach, working closely with SOC, SIEM, and threat intelligence technologies.
You will be part of a mature security environment, contributing to the implementation, automation, and optimization of defensive security capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and enhance email security solutions and threat detection capabilities.
* Support SIEM and SOC operations, ensuring effective monitoring and response processes.
* Develop and improve security automation initiatives.
* Implement, configure, and optimize security tools and platforms.
* Design and maintain threat monitoring dashboards.
* Perform network and security monitoring, focusing on platform-related threats.
* Support incident response activities, including investigation, mitigation,
and continuous improvement.
* Apply an engineering-driven approach to cybersecurity challenges, including scripting and automation.
Requirements
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in SOC and SIEM environments.
* Strong experience with SIEM technologies.
* Experience with email security platforms and threat management.
* Knowledge of Cyber Threat Intelligence tools, including CrowdStrike Falcon.
* Experience with Security Threat Detection and Intrusion Detection.
* Understanding of NIS2, GDPR, MITRE ATT&CK;, and malware fundamentals.
* Experience with EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) solutions.
* Engineering mindset with coding/scripting capabilities (preferably Python).
* Fluent English (mandatory).
* Spanish is not required.
Conditions
* Location: Barcelona, Spain.
* Work model: Hybrid (2 days on-site per week during the first 3 months).
