We are seeking an experienced
Senior Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Engineer
to join our team on a temporary basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge quantum communications and space infrastructure programmes while ensuring continuity across a portfolio of strategic European projects.

The successful candidate will be embedded within our
New Programs and Space Infrastructures Department
in Madrid, working alongside multidisciplinary teams on innovative quantum and optical communications initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of advanced Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and secure communications projects.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and coordination of European and ESA-funded programmes.
- Prepare technical proposals and bids for European and institutional customers.




- Coordinate and collaborate with international partners, customers, and multidisciplinary consortia.
- Engage with institutional stakeholders, including the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission, and other strategic partners.
- Provide technical leadership in the definition of next-generation quantum communication and space infrastructure solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Telecommunications Engineering, Photonics, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in
quantum communications
, with a strong focus on
Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
.
- Experience working within the
space sector
.
- Proven involvement in
ESA
and European-funded programmes, such as
Horizon Europe
,
EuroQCI
, or the
Quantum Flagship
.
- Experience in proposal writing, bid preparation, and the coordination of international consortia.
- Excellent written and verbal comm
