Cloud Data Migration Architect | GCP / BigQuery / Teradata | English-speaking | EU Hybrid | Contract

Quick-start contract leading a complex enterprise data-platform migration into GCP for a high-profile client.

This is a 3-month initial engagement with extension potential. The key requirement is extensive hands-on GCP Data Architecture experience leading large-scale migrations into BigQuery, including deep Teradata expertise.

This is not a general data architecture position; we need someone who has personally delivered end-to-end enterprise database and data lake migration into GCP in a real production environment.

Your Mission

You will lead the architecture and delivery strategy for a major enterprise migration into GCP and BigQuery, covering cloud databases, data lakes, legacy Teradata workloads and migration workstreams.

You will work with engineering, data, platform and business stakeholders to define practical migration designs, improve workload performance and support data streaming initiatives.

The strongest candidates will be able to explain what they personally designed, built,



migrated, implemented or operated.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead end-to-end architecture across large-scale enterprise migration workstreams into GCP and

BigQuery

• Define and refine BigQuery target architecture for production data workloads

• Develop cloud database, data lake and migration strategies from legacy Teradata environments

• Review, tune and troubleshoot advanced SQL workloads and complex performance issues

• Work hands-on with Databricks and DataProc as part of the migration ecosystem

• Support data streaming initiatives and their integration into the wider data platform

• Contribute Java or Python expertise to migration, optimisation and engineering activity

• Support migration planning, sequencing, technical risk management and architecture decision-making

• Work with engineering and data teams to improve reliability, maintainability and performance
