We're partnering with a integral energy-transition software business as it builds out its European presence from a new Madrid base. They're hiring a
Staff Data Engineer/Senior Data Engineer
to own the architecture and design of their cloud data platform from the ground up.

This is a hands-on, technical lead role, the anchor for the data side of the business, not a people-management position. You'll lead the data-lake design, the data modelling and the multi-tenant architecture that keeps every customer's data isolated and secure, whilst giving support and channel teams the access they need.

What you'll own:
- Data-lake and partitioning design on Google Cloud (BigQuery, Buckets)
- Multi-tenant architecture with strict customer data isolation
- Pipelines, ETL and the access patterns that feed internal teams and reporting
- Secure data-access layers and MCP / LLM connectors so AI tools can consume enterprise data
- Data privacy, encryption and GDPR / regional compliance baked into the design

Candidate profile:
- 6+ years in data or software engineering, with time spent at staff,



principal or lead level
- Highly proficient with Python (must have)
- Strong Google Cloud experience and a track record designing multi-tenant data systems
- SQL and NoSQL, solid pipeline / ETL experience preferred
- A portfolio of projects you can talk through end to end: the requirements, the design, and why you made the calls you did

Useful additional experience:
- Airflow / dbt / Fivetran, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi), CRM/ERP integration (NetSuite especially)
- BI layers (Looker / Tableau)
- Background in e-commerce data segmentation, industrial back-office or charging-infrastructure software.
