The Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician (Integration) to join our Space Division.
You will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and verification of high-reliability photonic and RF systems designed for demanding space environments.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of our cleanroom operations, where precision, quality, and collaboration are key.?
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the assembly, integration, and verification (AIV) of space-qualified photonic, RF, and electronic equipment.
Design and optimise integration and manufacturing procedures to ensure repeatability, reliability, and full compliance with specifications.
Perform optical fibre fusion splicing and handle precision photonic components.
Support the qualification of photonic components for space applications (radiation tolerance,
thermal cycling, etc.).
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including assembly procedures and verification reports.
Work closely with design, test, and quality teams to ensure compliance with ECSS/ESA standards.
Contribute to non-conformance management and root cause analysis to ensure continuous improvement.
About You
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Photonics, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
5- 8 years experience in assembly, integration, and verification (AIV) of high-reliability systems, ideally within space or defence.
Proven experience combining photonics, electronics, RF, and mechanics in integrated systems.
Skilled in cleanroom assembly, ESD handling, and precision optical alignment.
Knowledge of ECSS or equivalent aerospace standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and technical leadership.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
