Offer Description
The Nanoprobes and Nanoswitches Group is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join an international and dynamic lab under the supervision of Silvia Pittolo. The contract will be within the framework of a Neuroscience research project using fiber photometry in freely-moving mice aimed at studying how antidepressant treatment alters brain neuromodulatory signals.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform animal surgery for AAV delivery
- Conduct fiber photometry recordings and behavior in freely-moving mice
- Simultaneous recordings of brain signaling molecules via fluorescent biosensors
- Histological analysis of brain tissue
- Data analysis and interpretation
- Communication of results

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- Passion for Neuroscience research with a focus on psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders
- Committed to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedicine, or related by applying to private and public doctoral fellowships
- Independent,



critical thinking and problem‑solving attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Research integrity
- Accreditation to perform experiments in laboratory mice (FELASA or similar)
- Experience with mouse surgeries, manipulation
- Experience in brain histology (intracardial perfusion, IHC and smFISH)
- Coding experience (Matlab/python)
