The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public-sector research institution based in Barcelona, Spain. VHIR promotes and conducts innovative biomedical research at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, with the aim of developing solutions to address citizens’ health needs and contributing to scientific, educational, social and economic development within its field of expertise.
The Medical and Molecular Imaging Research Group (GRIMM) is a VHIR research group specialising in medical imaging, with expertise in Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) and Nuclear Medicine.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Coordinate and manage research databases.
- Provide support to the Radiology Department in patient recruitment and data acquisition.
- Collaborate with clinicians, engineers and other members of multidisciplinary research teams.
- Prepare and organise project meetings, documentation and research data.
- Assess and analyse project requirements and data-management needs.
- Monitor and follow up patients participating in research projects.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Additional or specialised training in Medical Imaging / Medical Radiology Technology.
- Fluency in Catalan and Spanish, with a good working level of English.
- A methodical and well-organised approach, with the ability to prioritise tasks according to the requirements of each project.
Desirable:
- Additional or specialised training in data management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Master’s degree and/or PhD.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 2 years’ experience working in clinical or biomedical research within a hospital environment.
- Knowledge of REDCap, SAP, DICOM and basic database management.
- Previous experience collecting clinical information from electronic health records, including hospital SAP systems.
- Professional experience in data management and/or data entry will be considered an advantage.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of GDPR and informed consent procedures.
