About The RoleAs part of its Strategic Plan, Spendesk decided to address customer growth through two different teams within the Sales Department: Business Development – responsible for acquiring new customers;
and Account Management – responsible for growing and developing existing customers. As an Account Manager, you’ll report directly to the Head of Account Management, playing a pivotal role in driving business growth by nurturing and expanding relationships with our existing customers. You’ll manage a large portfolio to drive expansion through upsell, cross‑sell, and contract negotiation.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn a dedicated portfolio of customers and develop it through proactive territory plans.Hunt for opportunities for upsell and cross‑sell by maintaining a high level of touch points through outbound and inbound activities.Understand client needs, business objectives, and challenges to effectively position our products/services.Manage the entire sales cycle from potential identification to closing: Qualification, Discovery, Technical Validation, Commercial proposal, Signature.Understand the customer ecosystem (third‑party providers, software solutions used) to identify business opportunities.Maintain accurate records of client interactions, transactions, and progress using CRM llaborate with Customer Success Managers, Product, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships to ensure the achievement of all key metrics related to customer growth,
retention and Spendesk product usage growth.What’ll give you an edge in this roleMinimum 1 year of sales experience in any industry.Strong sales instincts, demonstrated assertiveness and a strong track‑record of hitting and exceeding quota, as well as proven negotiation and closing anization and portfolio management discipline in daily activity planning and prioritizing.Ability to navigate between high‑velocity deals and value‑focused deals.Customer relationship and business partnership: active interest in understanding customer context and pains to position as a business consultant.Great written and verbal communication skills in English and German.Ownership mindset and the ability to help shape the AM playbook.Not ticking every box?
