Nexeo is currently looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a major organization in Belgium.

You'll play a key role in the development of a central Company Data Repository, designed to consolidate company information from multiple internal and external sources, improve data quality, reduce duplication and inconsistencies, and provide reliable data to business applications and processes.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data integration, data quality, cleansing, monitoring, and validation processes, while contributing to the continuous improvement and reliability of the data platform.

? Your Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Data Integration & Engineering

- Design and implement robust data ingestion and integration processes.
- Develop and maintain data integration flows using FME.
- Connect multiple internal and external data sources to the central data repository.
- Define transformation, normalization, and consolidation rules.
- Implement connectors and integration flows required for data ingestion and distribution.
- Ensure complete traceability of data exchanges and compliance with architectural standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data integration processes.

Master Data & Consolidation

- Contribute to the management of company reference data.
- Implement mechanisms for unique identifier management.
- Develop and maintain data deduplication mechanisms.
- Define consolidation and prioritization rules between different sources.
- Implement mechanisms for managing data conflicts.
- Ensure consistency of the consolidated company view across applications.

Data Quality

- Define and implement automated Data Quality controls.
- Develop validation rules covering:
- Data formats
- Completeness
- Temporal consistency
- Cross-source validation
- Uniqueness
- Automate quality controls during data ingestion and on existing data.




- Ensure Data Quality rules can evolve according to business and regulatory requirements.

Data Anomaly Detection

- Design mechanisms to detect and monitor data anomalies and inconsistencies.
- Identify:
- Duplicate records
- Abnormal values
- System inconsistencies
- Divergences between data sources
- Contribute to the definition of Data Quality KPIs and dashboards.
- Develop reporting mechanisms to identify recurring data quality issues.
- Classify anomalies according to their criticality and help prioritize corrective actions.

Data Cleansing & Remediation

- Develop automated data cleansing processes.
- Implement standardization, normalization, deduplication, enrichment, and error correction processes.
- Identify root causes of data quality issues.
- Promote correction of data quality issues at source.
- Contribute to continuous data quality improvement.

Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

- Implement continuous monitoring of data quality and integration processes.
- Define and monitor key Data Quality indicators, including:
- Accuracy
- Completeness
- Consistency
- Uniqueness
- Freshness
- Compliance
- Analyze data quality trends and identify improvement opportunities.
- Propose technical and organizational improvements.

Testing & Operational Support

- Contribute to technical and functional integration testing.
- Define test scenarios and participate in test campaigns.
- Support teams in resolving data-related technical incidents.
- Document processes, tools, and technical solutions.
- Contribute to the progressive connection of applications to the central data repository.

? Your Profile

We are looking for a professional with:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, IT, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong experience in Data Integration / ETL.




- Hands-on experience with FME.
- Experience working with multiple data sources and complex integration flows.
- Strong understanding of Data Quality and Data Management.
- Experience with data transformation, normalization, cleansing, and deduplication.
- Good understanding of data validation and monitoring processes.
- Experience with technical and integration testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
