Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team in Rota, Spain, supporting the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC). This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the structural integrity and survivability of forward-deployed U.S. Navy vessels operating in the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. As part of a mission-driven team, you will provide critical expertise in hull, structural, and coating systems—supporting inspections, casualty response, and repair planning in a dynamic, high-tempo environment. Essential Responsibilities Provide Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) to evaluate and resolve casualties involving hull, structural, and coating systems
Conduct on-site (OS) and distant support (DS) inspections of hulls, tanks, voids, and structural members to assess damage and develop repair recommendations
Perform scheduled and unscheduled system assessments in support of TSRA,



ICMP, INSURV, and other readiness evaluations
Evaluate corrosion, structural degradation, and coating system performance, and recommend corrective actions
Support Engineering Technical Branch (ETB) operations, including ship stability calculations and monitoring during casualties, drills, or emergent events
Participate in ETB drills and training, and respond to casualty events, including weekends and holidays as required
Provide logistics support, including material identification and repair requirement development
Deliver on-the-job training (OJT) and technical guidance to ship's force personnel on inspection and maintenance practices
Document findings using Navy systems (e.g., MFOM/NMD, FTS, CADET, MAFs) and prepare formal reports/debriefs in accordance with JFMM standards
Recommend updates to technical documentation, including Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), manuals, and drawin
