Introduction to the vacant position:
The Biointegrated Materials and Engineering Research Group is looking for a Research in training to contribute to the development of robotic manufacturing processes using bioinspired materials and biomaterials.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- The role includes the design and fabrication of prototypes and experimental systems.
- Preparation, processing, and characterization of materials
- CAD design of components, tools, and end-effectors; programming and control of robotic systems using ROS 2 and MoveIt.
- Trajectory generation and execution; and integration of external sensors, vision systems, and data acquisition devices
- The candidate will also participate in experimental testing, data analysis, documentation of protocols and code, literature review, and dissemination of scientific results.

Requirements for candidates:
Essential:




- University degree in Industrial Design Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Materials Science, or related disciplines.
- Multidisciplinary qualifications (Physics/Math's, Physics/Engineering, etc.)
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- High level of English

Advantageous:
- Experience in biomaterials, bioinspired materials, additive manufacturing, design and prototyping, programming in Python or C++, ROS 2, MoveIt, sensor integration, and computational design tools will be highly valued.
- The selected candidate should demonstrate strong motivation and potential to pursue a research career. During the contract, they will be expected to prepare and submit applications for competitive external funding schemes to support their progression towards a PhD degree.
