At KITRO, we tackle the general challenge of food waste reduction by harnessing the power of technology and using it for sustainable change. Through AI and data we help kitchens reduce food waste and operate in a more resource efficient and sustainable way.
As a Software Engineer Intern , you'll work on real product features, collaborating with experienced engineers to develop data-driven applications and services. This is a hands-on internship designed for someone with strong potential who is excited to learn, contribute, and grow into a software engineering career.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain applications across both front-end and back-end components.
- Implement well-defined features, bug fixes, and product improvements with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Contribute to code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices to build reliable, maintainable software.
- Work with APIs, databases,
and data pipelines to transform device-generated data into valuable customer insights.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering team, ask questions, learn continuously, and progressively take ownership of technical tasks.
Your profile
We're looking for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and enjoys solving problems.
Requirements:
- A solid foundation in software development through university studies, a bootcamp, personal projects, or early professional experience.
- Experience with Git and familiarity with at least one of the following technologies:
- React & TypeScript
- Python
- PostgreSQL
- AWS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to code quality, testing, and creating a great user experience.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate in an international, remote-first environment.
- Curiosity, ownership, and a growth mindset.
