DESCRIPTION:
Field Engineering supports the safe, reliable operation and continuous improvement of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. As infrastructure systems increase in scale and complexity, controls engineering plays a central role in integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems, detecting operational risk, and converting field experience into repeatable engineering standards.
The Critical Infrastructure Controls Field Engineer provides hands-on engineering ownership for complex controls issues and gaps that are not fully addressed through routine operations, maintenance, deployment, or product support. The role covers proprietary and third-party systems, including equipment-level controls associated with air-handling and cooling systems, pumps and packaged skids, chillers, electrical monitoring and power-management systems, relay-based equipment,
and other integrated critical infrastructure.
The engineer leads complex post-event analysis, standardizes controls logic and code, develops controls retrofit designs, executes first-of-kind pilots, and provides field-facing engineering support for difficult controls problems. This is a hands-on execution role-not an audit-only or advisory position. Success is measured by recurring failure modes eliminated, controls risks reduced, reusable standards adopted, and validated improvements scaled across facilities and regions.
Key job responsibilities
* Lead advanced post-event engineering analysis for controls-related loss of visibility, loss of system resiliency, site impairment, critical events, and large-scale incidents, including root-cause analyses, technical field reports, and time-sensitive investigation reports.
* Identify recurring controls failure patterns and develop scalable corrective actions, engineeri
