Amazon Web Services is looking for a rigorous and experienced Chief Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) team. This group is committed to maintaining the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services, ensuring 100% uptime of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/life safety systems, while delivering world-class customer service to the teams operating within the data centers.
We support all AWS data centers as well as all the servers, storage equipment, networks, power systems, and cooling systems that ensure our customers have continuous access to the innovations they rely on. We work on the most complex problems, with thousands of variables impacting our operations, and we are looking for talent who want to help us tackle these challenges.
You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, critical systems specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other essential roles. As a DCEO Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical,



and fire protection/life safety equipment within the data center operates at optimal efficiency. You will serve as the single technical point of reference for all facility operations, reporting to the site Facility Manager and interacting with Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) as well as third-party contractors. Data center equipment supporting critical servers must maintain an uptime rate greater than 99.999%.
As a DCEO Chief Engineer, you will manage low-to-medium impact projects from design through delivery. These projects involve a significant amount of independent work as well as collaboration with cross-functional support teams including engineering, automation, operations, and finance, in both local and international environments.
