ABOUT CRAG
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus and currently hosts around 200 members from all over the world.
Research programmes at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Research Technician to join the Genetics and Genomics of Vegetable Crops Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute experiments in tomato plants related to biomass and productivity: protein analysis by Western Blot, expression and metabolomics data analysis.
- Establish protocols related to mitochondrial protein analysis and others.
- Drive the evolution of the work package into innovative research in plant metabolism and actively collaborate within the research team.
- Manage assigned research activities, prioritize experimental tasks and ensure high-quality scientific outcomes.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or similar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in plant physiology and molecular biology.
The following will be positively valued:
- Certifications in courses about metabolomics and molecular biology.
- Experience in managing tomato plants.
- Knowledge of plant primary metabolism.
