About the role
As part of one of the world's leading engineering departments at Imperial, the Department of Mechanical Engineering delivers a four-year undergraduate MEng programme to around 600 students and a one-year Master's programme in Advanced Mechanical Engineering.
We are seeking an exceptional engineer who is passionate about leading student-focused initiatives, to join our team as a Senior Teaching Fellow to lead initiatives relating to Student Experience. This role sits at the heart of our undergraduate student journey to enhance engagement, success, wellbeing and belonging across our taught programmes.
Working closely with students, academic colleagues and professional services staff, you will identify and address educational and pastoral challenges, develop innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement across our programmes.



This will also include leading the inclusion of Widening Participation schemes to ensure that every student has an equal opportunity to become a top graduate Engineer. Overall, you will play a key role in shaping an inclusive and supportive learning environment, acting as a champion for student wellbeing and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
The Senior Teaching Fellow will actively engage in Mechanical Design teaching and tutoring. This topic is a fundamental aspect of modern Mechanical Engineering, and preparing our graduates in this field is essential for their long term success. As part of core and optional modules, your delivery of design teaching activities will contribute towards our overall mission to graduate the top students in UK and Internationally.
